After graduating from the University of Baltimore in 1990 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business Management, Heidi migrated west to Los Angeles intending to attend law school at Pepperdine University. Instead, she took a trip north to Alaska and stayed for the better part of twenty years, where she began her real estate career as an appraiser for a local firm while also working as a raft and sea kayak guide and starting a small photography business capturing tourists roaring through the rapids of the Mighty Mendenhall river in Juneau. A trip “below” in 2002 landed her in Telluride, where she remained for five years with her family and started an appraisal firm and bought and rehabbed the local gym with her partner. Missing the waters of Southeast Alaska, she and her partner created a dual citizenship in Colorado and Alaska that continues with her recent relocation to Durango, where she has traded in fishing boats for horses!
Heidi brings her twenty-two years of experience in real estate appraisal, law, and sales to her career as a broker at Durango Land and Homes. Having been a principal of both Southeast Appraisal Services in Juneau and Bear Creek Appraisal Services in Telluride as well as a realtor in Juneau, Heidi brings a well-rounded background in real estate to her business here in Durango. Additionally, Heidi’s degree in Marketing, as well as her experiences in buying, running, and selling several successful business ventures, gives her a unique perspective in assisting both buyers and sellers in this challenging real estate market. Let Heidi use her valuation and negotiation skills to help you purchase or sell your home at the RIGHT price!
